Paws in the Pool
Dogs in Yakima enjoyed a day in the pool. Franklin Pool hosted its first-ever Paws in the Pool day on September 3. At 3:30 P.M., the pool closed for the season but was open to dogs and their people. Thanks go out to the lifeguards and staff members who supervised the fun and collected swim fees and donations to benefit our shelter. As you can see from the photos, the dogs and their families had a great time. We hope this becomes an annual event.
The Humane Society of Central Washington would like to give a special "Thank You" to - Traci L. Bennett, Recreation Supervisor, for putting together this wonderful event for the dogs in Yakima.
2007 Humane Society Fall Fundraiser
The Humane Society of Central Washington hosted its latest annual Fall Fundraiser, "See Spot Party" on Friday, September 7th at Cascade Gardens in Yakima.
The fundraiser was catered by Smokin' Bones and Burhmaster Bakery and featured live music by SLiVER. The Fall Fundraiser is the biggest event of the year for the Humane Society. The income generated from this event provides much needed funding to support our programs all year long.
More important than the food and fun, the event generated more than $10,000 through ticket sales ($50), corporate table sales, silent auction and raffles. All proceeds support spay and neuter programs, school outreach as well as day to day operations and care for homeless animals in Central Washington.
