Meet Melvin, a 2-month old male German Shepherd mix.
A message from the foster parents, "Melvin is very smart. He sits down on command and also sits down when we open the front door because he knows he is not supposed to go out there. He plays well with our larger dogs as well as the chihuahua we have. He has been gentle with our cats and only shows mild interest in them. He knows when it is playtime and when he should just curl up on the couch to take a nap. He is also very sweet and affectionate. He loves to run around and does very good in his kennel." Please remember that Melvin is a puppy and puppy behavior comes with the package. They need basic training and potty training along with being provided chew toys to encourage proper chewing habits. All puppies require socializing from a young age to help them become the best, most well-rounded dog they can be. This pet is available for adoption and is located at the Yakima Humane Society. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
