Meet Pookie, a six-year-old cat.

Pookie has been through a lot, and this sweet girl deserves a chance to feel safe and loved again. She was found with her beloved owner, who had passed away, and we don't know how long she had been alone before they were discovered. While her past is heartbreaking, Pookie's gentle heart is still shining through.

Understandably, Pookie is nervous and shy in new situations. She'll need a patient, compassionate home that gives her time to settle in and learn that she's safe. Beneath that timid exterior is a super-sweet girl who deserves all the comfort and kindness the world has to offer.

Pookie is a bit of a chunky girl, and she could benefit from losing some weight to help her groom herself more easily. She also arrived with a matted coat, so she'll need some extra help with grooming and keeping herself comfortable.

Pookie has been through a difficult chapter in her life, and now it's her turn to be cared for. She's looking for someone who will give her the time, patience, and love she needs to feel at home again. Your adoption fee includes: A lovable new companion, spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations + deworming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets 3-4 months and older), and microchip with nationwide registration.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters may be required to have proof of landlord approval.
