We rescue, reunite, rehabilitate, and re-home over 10,000 animals every year. We rely on donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations to save lives. There are several ways to contribute to our lifesaving efforts.
We impact the lives of over 20,000 animals through our Spay and Neuter Clinic. As a nonprofit, we rely on private donations to provide second chances to the helpless, homeless animals of our community. Our Adoption Center relies 100% on private donations to operate, receiving no government funding. Please consider make a donation to the animals today!
Please become a Humane Hero by joining our monthly giving program! Monthly giving is an easy way to help Yakima Humane Society do even more to save lives and help animals all year long. Your contribution will be automatically charged to credit card at the same time each month until you cancel. A minimum $10 monthly contribution is required for participation in this life-saving program.
Don't forget to select "monthly" under the frequency tab to ensure your recurring gift. The animals thank you for being their hero!
Sponsor a kennel in our Adoption Center! When you become a kennel sponsor, a personalized plaque will be placed on your choice of either a cat or dog kennel for one year. A plaque will be personalized in your name, your company's name, or in honor or memory of a beloved family member, special friend, or cherished pet. Kennel sponsorships are available for kennel runs at $1,000 and for condos at $500. Sponsoring a kennel helps us offer a second chance to homeless pets, providing them with shelter, nutritious food, fresh clean water, medical care and an opportunity to be adopted into a permanent loving home
The Emergency Medical Fund enables us to provide life-saving medical care to injured or sick cats and dogs who arrive at our shelter; these animals would otherwise face the possibility of euthanasia without the medical treatment necessary to rehabilitate them. Once rehabilitated, these special pets can be adopted into a new loving home. Your gift gives them a second chance.
The Community Cat Fund supports Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts through our Valley. The TNR program is a Yakima Humane Society initiative to humanely manage community cats in Yakima County by providing medical care and spay or neuter services to this underserved population. Community cats (also referred to as "feral" cats) are trapped in neighborhoods around our community, transported to our Spay & Neuter Clinic for surgery, given vaccinations and provided medical care as needed, and then released back to their homes. Your donation allows us to continue this program at a very low cost that we are able to pass on to the public. You can help save the lives of countless community cats with your gift.
If you work for a company with a matching charitable gift program, you can double your gift to the animals. Be sure to include your matching gift form when you mail your donation to our administrative office - we'll submit the form for you. Mail your donation along with the matching gift form to: 2405 West Birchfield Road, Yakima, WA 98901.
We always need laundry detergent! Can you believe that we sometimes do more than 500 pounds of laundry per day in the Adoption Center and the Spay & Neuter Clinic to keep the animals clean and comfy? That's a whole of towels, blankets and toys!
But we must keep the animals healthy with fresh, clean laundry daily. Next time you visit the grocery store, please pick up a gallon of liquid laundry detergent - nothing fancy please, since we can't use HE or powdered detergents. You can drop off the detergent at our Adoption Center or at our Spay & Neuter Clinic. The animals thank you!
YHS always needs supplies to help keep our shelter animals clean, happy and comfortable.
Please help us with the many needed items on our Wish List. We also have an Everyday Item Wish List and a Training & Enrichment Wish List on Amazon - shop online and have these much needed items delivered to us. Your donation can go even further by making your purchase through AmazonSmile and selecting Yakima Humane Society as your designated charity.
Yakima Humane Society respects the privacy of our donors. We do not sell or exchange donor information.
You can rest assured that any donation you make to Yakima Humane Society helps animals right here in your own community. We rely on private donations to save the lives of local animals.
