In August of 2022, the Yakima Humane Society began its partnership with the City of Ellensburg and took over operations of the Ellensburg Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. Former staff members stuck around and new employees from the Ellensburg community were hired to round out an amazing staff of committed and devoted animal lovers.

If you're interested in adding a new four-legged best friend to your family, we invite you to come on down and meet the many amazing animals in our care, all looking for homes of their own. There is nothing more rewarding than pet adoption and giving an animal the loving forever home that they deserve.

Caring for the animals could not be done without the amazing support of our community. It takes a village to provide for the ones who need us most and we are incredibly thankful for our community of supporters.
