Meet Kona, a 1.5-year-old spayed female Pit Bull mix.

Due to changes in lifestyle, she was surrendered to the Yakima Humane Society. Kona is a bright, cuddly, and easygoing, who thinks she's a lap dog. She does need to work more on leash training because when she's excited she will pull. She is kennel trained and uses her kennel when you are away from home. Kona enjoys meeting new people and animals. She lives with a medium dog, and children from ages 8 to 5 months old. She is very fond of stuffed animals and loves to run around. Meet and greet with any other pets in an adopter's home is required prior to adoption. While Kona does still need some training, she is young and has lots of energy for your next active companion.
If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don't Shop.
