Meet Duke, a 2-year-old male German Shepherd.
This amazingly handsome boy was found as a stray several months ago and is finders recently surrendered him to the adoption center. Duke is reported to be good on a leash and to know boy sit and down. He isn't immediately trustful of new people and will need an adopter that can spend time getting to know him. Duke is 75 pounds and athletic, he can jump over a 3 foot fence. He really needs a yard with a 6 foot fence or taller and would really like regular exercise. Previous German Shepherd experience would be helpful as Duke is very true to his breed.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 24-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
