Meet Maximus, a 2-year-old male Husky/Australian Shepherd mix.
Maximus is a very very active young man. He will talk to you about his feelings and has a vocal personality. Maximus is 65 pounds and a tall thin build. He has ears that go on forever and has very cool Aussie markings. Maximus was around another dog and did good but a meet and greet is always recommended with all dogs in a come prior to adoption. He also meet the dog savvy shelter house cat and was okay but interested.
Please do your breed research before applying to adopt Maximus. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
