Mo has now been at the adoption center since October. He is such a happy boy and loves to get out in the off leash area for some play time with the staff.
Meet Mo, a 3-year-old male Husky mix.
Mo and his buddy Curly arrived at the adoption center after being picked up by animal control. Mo was happy to spend time with a handler during his photo shoot and enjoyed cuddles. He tries to keep a clean kennel and likes checking out the park. Mo is 56 pounds and has a similar build to a Border Collie. As he arrived with another dog he might enjoy a home with a fellow K9 but it is know that he doesn't do well with cats or chickens.
Please do your breed research before applying to adopt MO. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household.
This pet is available for adoption on 10/23/22. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
