Meet Wilson, an approximately 5-year-old male Saint Bernard Mix who is located at the Ellensburg shelter.
Wilson is a really good boy that came into the shelter with his buddy Wilbur. With Wilson, it does take some patience and effort to get him to trust you and open up. One of our dedicated staff has been spending many hours working with him and he has really come out of his shell to this particular individual. He has allowed himself to be playful and curious around someone he knows is safe. He shows a huge amount of loyalty with the ability to learn. All he wants is to be close to someone who loves him. He gives and receives love with a special kindness in his eyes. So far, he's a bit timid around new people and is a little sensitive to his environment. For his best chance, he would do well with someone who can foster a safe place for him to come out of his shell. Ideally, the ability to go outside in a fenced yard would allow his great qualities to show through. We believe in a home environment, with a stable parent, he will quickly get comfortable and be such a loving and loyal dog to someone. He is also potty trained, knows basic commands, and is learning to walk on leash. We recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all! Come meet Wilson today! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
