Meet Wilbur, an approximately 5-year-old male Saint Bernard Mix who is located at the Ellensburg shelter.
Wilbur is a gentle giant. He is a fluffy, squishy boy with so much joy in his heart. When he is let outside off-leash he wags his tail so hard his entire body sways back and forth with it. He is in his element when he is outside, so a home with a big backyard would be ideal for him, also, a home that will allow his inner couch potato to thrive. When Wilbur first came to the shelter, he came in with his buddy Wilson. They were both very timid and shy, but they have both made so much progress in the last few weeks. He might need some time to adjust to the new home environment, so a new owner with patience and a calm demeanor would give him the best chance to shine. Wilbur sometimes pees if approached to quickly or if he gets too excited, but he is doing this less and less as he gets to know the shelter staff. He is great on-leash, he is potty trained, knows basic commands, and seems dog-friendly. We recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all! Come meet Wilbur today! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
