Meet Niko, an approximately 2-year-old male Husky.
Niko arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now available for adoption. Niko is a friendly, active guy who would love a home that can take him on adventures! Niko is dog friendly, attentive to his handler, and does great in the car! Niko is food motivated and knows some basic commands. Niko has been keeping his kennel very clean so we believe he may be potty trained as well. We recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all! Come meet Niko today, he is located at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter! Please do your breed research before applying to adopt Niko. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
