Meet Astro, an approximately 1.5-year-old female Terrier Mix.
Astro arrived at our shelter along with 5 other dogs that were abandoned at the local dog park overnight. Astro is taking a little longer to trust the staff here at the shelter, however she has made a lot of progress in the short amount of time she has been here. She is scheduled to be spayed on 8/15 and will be ready to go to her forever home soon after. We believe Astro is potty trained as she keeps a very clean kennel. Astro appears to know some basic commands and walks well the leash! We always recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all! A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 24-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
