Meet Cookie Dough, a nine month old Husky/Malamute mix.
We think Cookie Dough is pretty heavy on the Husky and lighter on the Malamute but probably a combination of those breeds with maybe some German Shepherd. She is currently a leggy 38 pounds and we expect her to put on a bit more weight before she is done growing. Cookie Dough was brought in as a stray with Caramelo and they got along well together but we always recommend a dog meet and greet if you have another canine companion at home. They were actually both found behind the YHS property along with three cats. Cookie Dough did fine with those three cats but it is important to remember that new cats are still really fun to meet and to acclimate her to a home with cats might take a bit of time and reinforcement, just like with any new dog. Cookie Dough is still very much a puppy so we don't see any issues with her acclimating to a home with other dogs, especially if they want to play. This friendly, active girl loves to go for walks and true to her breed's reputation she can be a talker when excited... Although not as much as we have seen with other Husky mixes. Cookie Dough loves treats AND squeaky toys and nothing seems to get this happy girl down. Since she is treat motivated training should be a breeze if you out in a little time, she already sits on command! Please do your breed research before applying to adopt Cookie Dough. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
