Meet Rudy, a one year old Doberman Pinscher mix.
We actually aren't sure where Rudy came from. Someone found him in a park (unknown which one) and brought him to our shelter. Unfortunately we were at capacity and explained to his finder that we were unable to take as we had no room for the dogs we currently had, we gave resources to some local rescues and group and also recommended they take him back where they found him incase he knew the area and could show them the way home as he seemed well cared for. Shortly later a staff member and volunteer were taking a dog out for pictures and saw Rudy running around in the busy parking lot, a concerned citizen ran up and informed us that they had seen the finder get into their care and leave him behind. They clearly didn't realize how dangerous this was as he was now left in an unfamiliar environment right next to a busy highway that a lot of dumped dogs get hit on. Thankfully Rudy came right up to the volunteer and seemed to be have a jolly time, he was on an adventure! Rudy is around 70 pounds and is a happy-go-lucky easy-natured boy who is great with all people. He has beautiful light colored eyes and probably has a couple breeds in him but our staff thinks they see Doberman in there for sure. This boy loves toys, especially ones with squeakers in them and is a very playful, silly dude. Rudy enjoys leash walking and following his nose and we enjoy his happy, never-down personality. Rudy will be available for adoption on 10/9/2023 at 12:07 PM. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop. |
