Meet Chip, a 3-year-old male German Shepherd mix.
Chip is such a cute and handsome boy. He and a dog buddy were found roaming the streets of Yakima by animal control. Chip is a smart boy who walks incredibly well on the leash and is a good listener. We don't understand why this boy keeps getting over looked. He knows "sit" and is working on "wait" and "lay down". We can't express what a joy it is to work with Chip.
Chip enjoys playing with rope toys in the yard and when it is time to go to the kennel he will run back to his and get in/sit without a fuss, patiently waiting for his yummy treat. Chip is great with other dogs we have introduced him to, so much so that he is now the dog we use to test friendliness of other dogs in his run. We could spend all day saying great things about Chip but you just have to meet this fantastic boy in person to really understand.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
