Meet Chewy, a 2-year-old male Shepherd/Husky mix.
Chewy is an active boy with an outgoing personality. He is very treat motivated and will be fun to take in any direction. Chewy does already know how to sit. He tends to be a little goofy. Who couldn't use a little bit more goofy in their life? Chewy arrived at the adoption center with a male dog and might enjoy a K9 companion in her forever home. He has since met another dog and did well with that dog as well. As with all dogs we recommend a meet and greet to make sure the personalities are a match before taking him home. Chewy is around 70 pounds and is working on his leash training along with the "off" command. He seems to listen really well once his wiggles are out and we see him becoming a fantastic companion for someone.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
