Meet Biggie, a two year old Staffie/German Shepherd weighing in at 55 pounds.
Biggie is an enthusiastic boy who is ready for his next adventure. He came in with two other dogs, Cam and Nick Fury, and seemed to get along well with them. Biggie is actually Nick Fury's brother and we have their DNA results, they are quite the mix but the two main breeds in them are the ones listed. Biggie still has a lot of puppy energy and is working on his manners such as "off" and his leash work (the leash isn't a toy). Despite this Biggie is eager to learn and takes his treats gentle. It can take a few minute out of the kennel for him to get his wiggles out but once he does he is happy to follow your lead. He was previously in a home with cats and kids and the owner said he did well with both. We think Biggie would make a fantastic dog for someone who wants an active companion, maybe your future hiking or jogging partner?
If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
