Meet Yuko, a one and a half year old Pit Mix.
Yuko has clearly had a rough life. He was owner surrendered to animal control and when he was brought in he was dehydrated, extremely skinny and moving slowly. He also had a very sensitive neck from improper use of a prong collar and a metal cord wrapped around it. Yuko is slowly coming out of his shell, he currently weighs 51 pounds but we would love to see him with more weight. This sweet boy loves his treats, and needs time to come out of his shell but that is completely understandable. If you have a sensitive heart for sweet Pitties take another look at Yuko.
If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Sunday, that's right we are open all days of the week!
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Before you go searching for free puppies or puppies for sale, check your local Shelters for available dogs and puppies that have been vetted and are ready to go home. Adopt Don't Shop.
