Meet Fern!
Fern is a sweet, older gentleman who's ready to spend his golden years with a loving family. Found as a stray and brought to safety by a kind-hearted police officer, Fern's past may be a mystery, but his future is shining bright. His calm demeanor, gentle nature, and heart full of potential make him a truly special companion.
Fern has been adjusting beautifully to shelter life, quickly becoming a favorite among staff and public dog walkers alike. He loves going for long walks, where his serene personality shines. He's met other dogs and doesn't seem to mind their company, and he's even been unbothered by our office cat-what a gentleman!
While Fern's age might suggest he's slowed down, he's still full of charm and love to share. Starting 1/4, he'll be ready to join a home that can offer him the patience, care, and affection he truly deserves. Are you ready to make this wonderful senior pup part of your family? Fern is waiting for you!
If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don't Shop.
