Meet Mavis, a 6-month-old Doberman, Heeler, and Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of potential and love to give. Mavis is a sweet girl who is still learning to trust after coming from a difficult environment. She may be a little shy at first and doesn't care for quick movements, but with patience and gentle care, she blossoms into a loving companion.
Once she gets comfortable with you, Mavis transforms into a total love bug! She's got a big heart and enjoys spending time with her people, showering them with affection. Mavis will need some TLC as she adjusts to her new home, but with understanding and time, she'll be the loyal, affectionate friend you've been looking for. If you're ready to give this special girl a chance, Mavis will reward you with endless love and devotion.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known.
