Meet Onyx, a three year old Pit mix weighing 83 pounds.

Onyx was taken by animal control from a house along with 21 other animals. Some of those animals came to us in pretty rough condition with evidence of serious neglect over prolonged periods of time. Onyx was in pretty good shape overall besides some sores on the backs of his legs which were likely due to the urine and fecal matter where he was living. We are pretty sure this boy is part hippo and he has the best smile. Onyx wants all of the love and attention and knows the command "sit" but is still working on his leash manners. We doubt he got out much, if it all, so we are not surprised that he finds everything new and exciting!

Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
