Meet Harlo, a one and a half year old Pit mix weighing around 45 pounds.

Harlo was taken by animal control from a house along with 21 other animals. The animals show varying degrees of neglect with a litter of puppies being the most startling. At first glance it looked like Harlo was one of the better cared for dogs, but animal control informed us that she was found in a crate filled to the brim with urine and other waste and all she could do was lay in it. It is clear Harlo hasn't had much exposer to new things and likely all she knew before was that crate. However, she has a gentle soul and is willing to go learn and trust if you are willing to show her the way. Harlo is working on her leash training and walks slowly behind you, curious to explore the world. We have discovered that Harlo enjoys playing fetch and will bring the ball back. She has also been around both dogs and cats when she went on a sleepover and did well with all! She deserves only the best and we are determined to give it to her.

Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
