Meet Shadow, a five year old German Shepherd mix weighing 66 pounds.

Shadow is a very friendly and outgoing boy with lots of life and love to give. That is why it breaks our heart that he is so young and experiencing a very severe form of hip dysplasia, so bad it can be described by our vet team as "both hips not in sockets". He is on medication for it and will require medication for the rest of his life. We also recommend at least yearly checkups at your vet to monitor the progression of hip dysplasia moving forward. That being said he might not be able to go on any hikes but he can still play and enjoys life. Shadow is treat motivated but needs to stay on the lean side to protect his hips. He is a lot of fun to be with and we recommend coming down to meet him for yourself.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
