Meet Nami!
Nami is a 1-year-old sweetheart named after the adventurous navigator from One Piece, and she's just as special as her namesake. It's been such a joy watching her grow during her time in foster care, and while we'll miss her, we're so excited to help her find the family she's meant to spend the rest of her life with.
Nami is a gentle, loving girl who can be a little shy when meeting new people. She likes to take her time getting comfortable, but once she feels safe, she's incredibly affectionate and loyal. She loves cuddling, enjoys being carried around like a baby, and will happily follow her favorite people from room to room just to be close.
She's currently living in a home with children ages 4-12, small dogs, and cats, and has done very well with all of them. She's playful with the cats in a puppy-like way and enjoys being part of the family.
Nami recently had a sleepover with a potential adopter, which gave us some great insight into the type of home where she'll thrive. While the sleepover went well overall, we've learned that Nami is much more comfortable bonding with women. Even though she currently lives in a home with a family, we believe she'd be happiest in a women-only home or a home with women and children. She's definitely more of a girl's girl and tends to build trust and confidence much more quickly with women than with men.
Nami is kennel trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccinations. She currently enjoys having a fenced yard to run and play, so she hasn't had much experience with daily leash walks outside of outings, but she's still young and eager to learn.
Like many young dogs, Nami gets very excited at mealtime and tends to eat a little too quickly, so we've been using a puzzle bowl to help slow her down. We also don't expect her to get much bigger than she is now.
The perfect home for Nami is one that will be patient, understanding, and willing to let her adjust at her own pace. Once she trusts you, you'll have an incredibly devoted companion who loves with her whole heart and just wants to be near her people.
