Meet Edith, a five year old Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 54 pounds.

Edith is a beautiful, intelligent girl who's just beginning to discover the world beyond the kennel. Recently surrendered with her companion Walter, Edith had been with her previous family since she was a puppy - but spent her entire life living outside. She arrived with injuries consistent with repeated fly bites, a sign of the tough conditions she's endured. But despite her rough start, Edith is showing everyone just how smart and resilient she is.

She's already walking well on leash, is curious about her surroundings, and is quickly picking up on the comforts of indoor life. Everything is new to her, but she's eager to learn and soak up the love and attention she's long been missing. Edith may do best in a home without cats and will thrive with someone who's patient, kind, and ready to help her continue this journey of rediscovery.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters are required to have proof of landlord approval.
