Meet Balenci, a one and a half year old Pit mix weighing 42 pounds.

Balenci is a gentle soul who's just beginning to find her footing after a tough transition. Recently surrendered with her brother due to landlord issues, Balenci is currently in a separate kennel and is available for adoption on her own. While her world was turned upside down, she's showing us every day how much love and potential she has to offer.

The shelter environment was overwhelming for Balenci at first - it was clear she hadn't had much experience outside of her previous home, and everything felt big and scary. But with time, patience, and kindness, she's slowly starting to open up. She leans in for comfort and is learning that snuggles and soft voices mean she's safe.

She's still unsure on leash but is making progress day by day. A calm, loving home would help her continue to build confidence - and she may truly thrive with a well-socialized dog companion who can show her that the world isn't so scary after all.

Balenci doesn't need perfection - just someone who sees her gentle heart and is willing to give her the chance she deserves.
