Meet Cheech, a seven year old Chihuahua mix weighing 14 pounds.

Cheech may be shy at first, but underneath that cautious exterior is a dog who wants to feel safe and loved. He's the perfect lap-sized companion, which is great-because that's exactly where he likes to be. When he's unsure or overwhelmed, Cheech will quietly scoot himself into your lap, looking for comfort and reassurance.

He's still learning that the world isn't so scary, so a quieter home would be best for him right now. But with time, love, and patience, Cheech has every potential to blossom and build confidence.

He doesn't need much-just a little space, a gentle routine, and someone who understands that trust takes time.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit.
