Meet Lotus, a six year old German Shepherd mix weighing 78 pounds.

Lotus's story is one of resilience and hope. She was owner-surrendered to Animal Control in very rough shape, with hair loss over nearly 80% of her body due to suspected mange. Since then, she's received the treatment she needed and is on the path to healing-and with time, her beautiful coat should begin to grow back, just like she deserves.

Despite everything she's been through, Lotus is a happy, friendly, and curious big girl who loves being close to her people. She's a true velcro dog, always wanting to be near, soaking up affection and reassurance. She's also treat-motivated and learning how to take treats more gently-showing her eagerness to learn and please.

Lotus has that classic German Shepherd presence, and Shepherd lovers will absolutely adore her. She's intelligent, loyal, and deeply bonded to her humans, with a heart that's clearly ready for a fresh start.

Like the lotus flower that blooms beautifully even after rising from muddy waters, Lotus is emerging from a difficult past with grace and strength. After all she's endured, she deserves only the very best-a loving home where she can heal fully, feel safe, and finally be cherished.
