Meet Elijah, a one-and-a-half-year-old Pit/German Shepherd mix weighing 55 pounds.

Elijah is a friendly, active dog who's discovering that life is full of wonderful things-especially long walks, tasty treats, and the perfect patch of grass to roll around in. He likes to take his time enjoying the finer things in life, and watching him stop to soak in the moment is guaranteed to make you smile.

Everything is still new to Elijah, making him a bit of a blank slate for his future family. He's eager to learn and is especially motivated by treats, so training is a great opportunity to build his confidence while strengthening your bond.

Elijah has a nice balance of energy-he enjoys being active without being over the top. He'd make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys daily walks, exploring new places, or simply spending time outdoors together.

NOTE: All pre-adoption questionnaires are subject to approval. Adopters must be 18 years of age. Entire families may be required to visit, including resident dog(s). 48-hour adoption holds may be placed on any animal (for approved adopters) with a non-refundable deposit. All dogs must leave with a collar and leash. All cats must leave in a pet carrier for their safety. Renters may be required to have proof of landlord approval.
