Meet Blue, a six-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie mix weighing 70 pounds (but should be much less).

Blue is a sweet girl with a serious case of the cutest "awoos" around. When she gets excited, she'll let you know with her adorable little vocalizations. She also has a bit of a judgmental streak and will absolutely give you a look when she thinks you're doing something questionable.

Right now, Blue is carrying quite a bit of extra weight, and it is affecting her comfort and mobility. She is a slow walker and tires easily, which makes it difficult for us to get a completely accurate picture of her personality and activity level. It's hard to know just how much of her current behavior is simply because she doesn't feel comfortable moving around.

Blue will need a family committed to helping her safely lose weight through appropriate nutrition, exercise, and veterinary guidance. We expect that as she loses some of the extra weight, she will become more comfortable, a little more active, and ultimately a much happier girl.

For now, Blue is looking for someone who will be patient with her, celebrate her progress, and understand that getting healthy is going to be an important part of her journey. Beneath all that extra weight is a dog we're excited to get to know better as she starts feeling like herself again.

And if you're lucky, she'll reward your efforts with one of her precious awoos and a very serious judgmental stare.
