Meet King, a one and a half month old Doxie/Terrier mix weighing 33 pounds.

King is a sweet boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can finally feel safe and comfortable.

King came to us from a home with fourteen dogs, all of whom had lived indoors their entire lives. We don't know exactly what breeds are mixed into King, as the dogs have quite a variety of looks. Some resemble Shepherds, while others look more Spaniel-like. King is short and long-bodied, so we suspect there may even be some Dachshund in his family tree.

Right now, King is understandably very scared and overwhelmed by all the changes. He is a sweet boy, but he will need someone willing to take things slowly and give him plenty of time, patience, socialization, and TLC as he learns that the world can be a safe place.

Because of his timid nature, King would do best in a home without young children. His new family will also need to be especially careful when he is outside. King should never be left off leash in an unsecured yard, as he may become frightened and try to run.

King may need a little extra time to come out of his shell, but with the right person by his side, we believe this sweet boy has so much potential to blossom.
