The goal of our Outreach & Education Programs is to share our love of animals by providing information and training on responsible pet ownership and how to properly care for our pet companions. The Yakima Humane Society works with partnering schools, enrichment programs and community groups to provide the information and resources to advocate kindness, compassion and respect for all forms of life. We have a variety of presentations and topics that range in length from 30 minutes to 1 hour to better serve our community's needs.
1. Animal Advocacy: What You Can Do To Help
2. Animal Behavior
To book a presentation, please complete the Presentation Request Form at least two weeks in advance of the proposed date. Once your request is received, you will be contacted by our Outreach & Education Manager to confirm and schedule the presentation.
Some programs prefer to work on a recurring basis, with Yakima Humane Society representatives meeting with students regularly to build upon previous lessons and explore animals issues more thoroughly. Provided we have the resources available, the Yakima Humane Society can with work educators to develop an extended curriculum.
Feedback is integral to the development of our educational programs. To better serve your needs, we welcome your comments. If you are interested in learning more about a topic not covered by our current curriculum, please let us know!
